Our Center for Well Construction Monitoring and Subsurface Support of Drilling Operations  is a business division within Ufa Scientific and Technical Center which includes proven functional elements: drilling data delivery system, modeling environment, real-time monitoring tools and information management system
Our support center provides services to optimize drilling based on analysis of reliable real-time drilling data thus significantly reducing risks at the stage of well construction. The center delivers a wide range of facilities for real-time management of drilling operations, monitoring of technology and process, geological support of drilling and advanced means for remote interaction of cross-disciplinary expert and specialist groups

Today Ufa Scientific and Technical Center employs state of the art software and data systems including proprietary products for planning, implementing and monitoring drilling programs


Well Planning

Collecting data on equipment, technology, casing design, mud and cementing systems and chemicals, engineering calculations of all operations, well drillability, optimization of design, planning drilling programs, mud programs, prevention and mitigation measures, parameter charts, process flow diagrams and other related documents

Subsurface Support of Drilling (Geological and Technical Control)

24/7 online geological support and technology control of drilling operations, including MWD (gathering and analyzing recorded measurements), correction and recalculations of properties and predicted characteristics, model updates, supervising and auditing of project implementation, control over drilling performance indicators, developing and approving measures and solutions while drilling, real-time adjustment of project solutions, HazOp studies. Correlation to reservoir geology, casing design and well TD (bottomhole). Assessment of borehole condition while drilling, recommendations to increase ROP (rate of penetration) or minimize drilling risks

Geosteering (Well Placement)

Modeling, synthetic well logs prior to drilling, monitoring of drilling operations, well log interpretation while drilling, real time task-oriented adjustment of drilling

Geomechanical Modeling

1D and 2D geomechanical earth models, evaluation of problem zones (caving, sloughing, circulation loss), analysis of drilling windows for all planned well construction operations (pressure gradients), mud weight calculations, drilling margins for all operations, screening and identification of flushing intervals, pumping visco-elastic mud (hi vis pills), reaming and other technological operations during well construction

Modeling Drilling Problems and Risks

Modeling geological drilling conditions against planned drilling practices. Calculation and prediction of drilling events (invariable assessment), analysis and numerical simulation of risk factors (lost circulation volumes, size of vugs or caverns, quantitative description of sloughing and caving, dragging etc.). Guidelines for all drilling scenarios for prevention, mitigation and elimination of risks, including logistics and organizational (invisible lost time (NPT), excessive unwanted and untimely operations). 24/7 drilling model support
