Production-technical seminar “Water influx control-2015”

On April 28-29, 2015 the public production-technical seminar “WATER INFLUX CONTROL-2015” was held in Ufa.
The aim of this seminar was to share experience and analyze the effectiveness of methods and technologies of prevention and limitation of water influx at all stages of development – starting with reservoir engineering with due regard to geological conditions and ensuring high-quality cementing of wells under construction, and ending with squeeze cementing technologies. In this regard, experts in the sphere of field development, well cementing, geophysical and hydrodynamic studies, major workover operations were invited to participate.
The seminar program included sections, dedicated to reservoir engineering and monitoring, cementing procedures, squeeze cementing/water influx control, selective water influx control, application of new equipment and chemical reagents. The seminar audience comprised the managers and specialists of oil producing companies departments, R&D institutes, contracting organizations, equipment and chemical reagents manufacturers, as well as of other enterprises, whose activities are aimed at limitation of water influx.
The seminar covered the following issues:
• Reservoir engineering and carrying out of GTA with regard to the problem of water influx minimization, coning prevention;
• Well cementing, modeling, technologies, compositions, quality control;
• Detection of the source of water trouble and water movement profile: geophysical well logging, field geophysical survey, hydrodynamic surveys, distributed measurements;
• Hydrodynamic modeling, examination of velocities and directions of filtration flows distribution, waterflooding management, application of diverter technologies;
• Inflow control and water shut off at well operation after carrying out the multi-stage hydraulic fracturing;
• Selective water influx control, fluid loss-chemical reagents;
• Pilot testing results and experience in application of inelastic gels, visco-elastic compositions, oil-based polymer-cement slurries, hydroscopic, silicate-gel and sedimentation compositions;
• Plugging, pilot testing of plugging compositions for squeeze cementing, development and testing of new equipment;
• Decisions for prevention of water influx after hydraulic fracturing near the water-saturated layers;
• Injection well treatments;
• Efficiency of application of packer assemblies and other engineering solutions for isolation of water influx intervals;
• Procedures of squeeze cementing, water influx control, elimination of leaks in production casing, choice of methods, experience and new developments in the field of downhole equipment and tools.
