Staff members of “UNTC” LLC took part in the SPE training course “Geochemical analysis during exploration and field development” which took place on October 29 within the framework of SPE Russian Technology Conference – 2015.
The instructor of this course was a doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences, candidate of chemical sciences, a geochemical laboratory manager in OJSC “TomskNIPIneft” professor I.V. Goncharov.
The following issues were considered during the course:
- Targets, tasks, and methods of geochemical analysis;
- Particularities of geological assignment for geochemical analysis;
- Aspects of regional geochemistry;
- The role of geochemistry in oil and gas potential evaluation;
- Types of basin modeling at different stages of geological prospecting works;
- Application of geochemistry – the only way to correctly determine place, volume, and time of shale oil generation;
- Particularities of geochemical works on a shelf during geological prospecting works;
- Geochemistry for specification of reservoir geology, monitoring, and reservoir management.
This course is best remembered for its simplicity, the highest level of material presentation and a great number of practice-oriented examples.
