“Waterflood management” workshop

07.12.2015

Specialists of “UNTC” LLC took part in the SPE Waterflood Management Workshop that was held in Tuymen on December 2-3, 2015 and was hosted by ZapSibNIIGG.

The workshop was held for the fourth time and traditionally was focused on discussion of major field development challenges, modern and perspective methods of sweep efficiency increase and managing field development processes. This SPE workshop was noted for two features. The first fundamental feature is the absence on the workshop of Schlumberger and Halliburton specialists. For all the time of holding of SPE events in Russia such a phenomenon, if we are not mistaken, happened for the first time. Why did specialists of these companies ignore the SPE event at the last moment remained an enigma. The second feature of the conference was determined by peculiarities of the ZapSibNIIGG conference hall: in our opinion it is a not very successful departure from accommodation of participants at round tables to the presidium-auditorium scheme.

The reports were interesting, they were well grouped into sections thanks to the program committee represented by Yakov Volokitin (Salym Petroleum Development) and Alexandr Sitnikov (“Gazpromneft NTC” LLC).

In our opinion the following reports were of particular interest:

  • Aristov Sergey (Shell Global Solutions Inc) “Best waterflooding practices. Injection mode and quality of water”
  • Shakirov Renat (“Gazpromneft NTC” LLC) “Rearrangement of the current dormation pressure maintenance system in low reservoir properties zones”
  • Irina Surovec (Salym Petroleum Development) “Monitoring of formation pressure maintenance system efficiency in the presence of technogenic fractures”
  • Fedor Grishko (Salym Petroleum Development) “Waterflooding optimization on the example of the L6 block of the Zapadno-Salymskoe oilfield”
  • Airat Turgaev (“RN-UfaNIPIneft” LLC) “Integrated approach to the field development optimization in the context of clinoform formations structure”
