Employees of "UNTC" LLC have visited the annual roundtable on drilling RDCR-2016
Russian drilling roundtable was held in Moscow on April 13, 2016 at the Baltschug Kempinski hotel. RDCR is a unique event bringing together professionals from the leading Russian drilling contractors and drilling teams from the regional operators to interact with Russian and International suppliers of rig and drilling equipment. These leading drilling professionals gathered under one roof, to exchange information and knowledge, promote the latest available technologies and share their understanding regarding the development and upgrading of Russia’s drilling fleet.
Drilling roundtable was focused on exchange of the best practices of conducting complex operations, on discussion of key drilling issues and special attention was given to import substitution. The first principal conclusion in the course of discussion was understanding of an urgent need for development of domestic technologies. It should be noted that technologies were understood not only as machinery, bur also process design and software solutions aimed at optimization and automation of processes. Thus specialists of the companies particularly allocated time for discussion of issues of non-productive time reduction in the process of well construction. It should be specially reported that there was a wide range of foreign companies participating in discussions and reports, however in most cases their reports and presentations did not contain useful information, moreover we fell under the impression that foreign colleagues ran a promotional campaign instead of discussing of a difficult situation of technological and technical nature.
The speakers were extremely accurate in their presentations and focused attention only on critical global and sector-specific issues. From our point of view the following reports were of the most interest:
- Murat Abdigaliev (JSC NC “KazMunayGas”) “Development of drilling in “KazMunayGas”). Our colleagues from Kazakhstan face the problem of drilling operations optimization, cost reduction without reducing the quality and volume of wells construction and fulfillment of ambitious production plans. Murat Abdigaliev shared the best practices of difficult wells drilling.
- Alexander Popov (RN-Uvatneftegaz)
- “Efficiency improvement of drilling operations due to non-productive time reduction”. Alexander outlined a problem of assumption of hidden non-productive time at execution of drilling operations, which prolongs well construction by 11-13%.
- Yuti Korchagin (LUKOIL-Nizhnevolzhskneft) “Progress in extended reach drilling wells”. Yuri shared his experience in drilling of horizontal wells without isolation (casing) of sediments overlying pay formations. Such approach allows reduction of cost and time expenditures per well due to reduction of a number of well sections.
We would like to express our attitude to the organizers of this event for establishment of a productive dialogue between drilling, service and producer companies. We are glad to see the demand and necessity for the services we render.
