On March 29-30 Moscow hosted the joint SPE/EAGE technical conference on geological and hydrodynamic modeling “Modeling in action: Synergy of practice and theory”. The workshop is held on a regular basis and is one of the most interesting SPE events in Russia…at least this year we, participating in the work of the program committee, tried to make the most of it.
The program was quiet varied: 4 sections, 2 working days from 9 to 18. There were a lot of interesting reports, but we are especially grateful for the presented reports to our colleagues from CGG (Sergei Fedotov) and Lukoil Overseas Uzbekistan (Ignatiy Volnov). Moreover, it would be possible to note the report on “Machine Learning Technology” by Yandex Data Factory unless colleagues left the conference immediately after the report, as too many questions were left unanswered. We hope that next time our colleagues from Yandex will take our events more serious.
In conclusion, we would like to thank the girls from Moscow section, especially Antonina, for the good organization of this remarkable event.
